What is DASA Scheme?
DASA is commonly known as Direct Students of Admissions Abroad. DASA scheme was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and it’s has been effectively on since the academic year 2001-2002.
DASA admission is for the Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin, Overseas Citizen of India or Non-Resident Indians that are into undergraduate programs in Engineering/Architecture/Planning streams from the 50 premier technical institutes of India.
DASA 2022 admission process will be conducted by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India.
This scheme made UG students easy to apply for the B.Tech admission in NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other Centrally Funded and Premier Technical Institutes of India aside from the Indian Institute of Information Technology’s (IIITs).
There are 29 NITs, 4 IIITs, 3 SPAs and 14 CFTIs Under The DASA Scheme. The List is as follows:

DASA UG 2021-22: Eligibility Criteria:

Age Eligibility:
You should be born on or after October 1, 1995 if you’re aiming to apply to the DASA. The Date of Birth (DOB) card should be issued by any Government authority or Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] are considered as genuine.
Academics Eligibility:
Applicant must qualify 12th grade or equivalent from the recognized universities of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
&
Applicant must have successfully completed 3 subjects – Mathematics, Physics & One of the subjects from Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology in 11th and 12th grade.
&
Applicant must have scored at least 60% aggregate or 6.5 GPA (10 point scale basis).
&
Applicants with the minimum JEE Main score of 180+ are only eligible. Applicants have to submit their JEE Main score directly to the DASA conducting institute from the NTA account.
Residential Eligibility:
All Foreign Nationals residing in any country including India or Indian Nationals studying abroad that fulfilled the above-mentioned admission criteria shall be eligible.
NRI/PIO/OCI is eligible for DASA scheme if he finishes his 11th and 12th grade in any foreign country in the last 8 years.
If you hail from any of the below-mentioned Gulf Counties, you are eligible for the CIWG scheme. The countries list is as follows:

You can avail of the benefits of the CIWG and DASA scheme. That is, if you fail to get admission under the CIWG scheme, you can get admission in DASA quota. Sounds great no??
If you are from a Middle Eastern Country then you might also be eligible for another scheme called CIWG.
What’s CIWG?
CIWG stands for Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf. CIWG is the subset of the DASA scheme. A student is eligible for CIWG scheme if one of his parent is working in the gulf countries like Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iran & Iraq.
The applicant that falls into this category must submit their proof of either parent working in a Gulf/Parent Visa/Parents work permit/Certificate from the organization parent has been working for.
The total numbers of admissions under DASA scheme are about 3913. I.e. 1/3rd quota of admissions are allotted to Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWGs) & 2/3rd quota admissions are allotted to Non-CIWG scheme (UG students from the rest of the world).
