Direct Admission of Students Abroad or more commonly known as DASA is an initiative by the Human Resource Ministry of India to enroll Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals to esteemed engineering colleges situated in India.
DASA 2022 Application Process
The DASA 2022 application form will be released online. Candidates will be able to submit the application form until the last date only. No applicant should send the application form through email, post, etc. Prior to filling DASA UG application form 2022, candidates should go through the information brochure carefully.
Candidates need to fill out the application form very carefully, If they make any mistake then their form can reject. The application process encompasses various stages like registration, filling out the application form, uploading a photo and signature, fee payment, and final submission.
Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students as per DASA
1. Students must clear class 11th & 12th from any recognized board outside India.
2. Students must have Physics and Mathematics main subjects in class 11th & 12th.
3. Candidates should score a minimum of 60% in 12th grade.
4. Students must qualify JEE mains exam as per the cut-off.
5. NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and FNs who are residing and studying abroad for the last 2 years can apply.
6. There is no age limit for attempting JEE Main.
7. Students who appeared for the class 12th exam but the result is awaited and are likely to get the result in March/ April 2022, can also apply.
Candidates have to show the following documents for proof
1. Copy of the Passport of the Parent
2. Visa of the Parent
3. Permit of the Parent and
4. Company/Organization Proof of the Parent to show that you’re working in Gulf
DASA Age Limit Criteria
· Candidates born on or after October 01, 1996, are eligible
DASA Residential Criteria
· Candidates studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad
DASA 2022: Reservation Criteria
There are 15% of seats are reserved under the supernumerary quota of DASA. And out of which 5% supernumerary seats are reserved for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWG). Candidates who will get admission in NITs and IIEST Shibpur under the CIWG category shall pay the tuition fee of Rs 1,25,000 per annum either in INR or equivalent USD.
On the other side, candidates who get admission in institutes other than NITs and IIEST Shibpur under the CIWG category shall pay tuition fees at the same level as the Indian resident students at the respective institutes either in INR or equivalent USD.

DASA / CIWG & JEE FAQ 2022 – 2023
Answer: DASA 2022 will be conducted by NIT Warangal.
Answer: There are 62 Premium Institutions that participate in DASA 2022.
Answer: No, You cannot take admission in BITS Pilani through JEE Main Score. You have to attempt BITSAT or SAT exam for this.
The eligibility criteria for DASA 2022 & CIWG 2022 will remain the same as it is for 2021. There are no changes in the eligibility criteria yet announced officially by DASA. Visit here, to check your DASA Eligibility.
Answer: Yes, If any of the NRI Candidates studying his class 11th or 12th from India then he can take admission through NRI Quota. But they cannot take admission under DASA or CIWG Scheme.
