Analysis of JEE Main 2016 – Paper – 1

The pen and paper mode of JEE Main test was conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM across 2000 centres in 129 cities in India and abroad.

  • This year paper was balanced. Out of 90 questions given as many as 42 were from grade 11 and 48 were from grade 12 syllabus.
  • It was observed that Physics paper was exhaustive , but Math and Chemistry papers were easy. Some of the difficult topics in Physics includes SHM, Modern Physics, Work Power and Energy and Heat & Thermodynamics.

  • In Chemistry, Physics Chemistry took 40% of questions, whereas, Inorganic and Organic took 33% and 27% respectively.
  • In Math, the topics covered were Area, Hyperbola, Circles, Logs and progressions.
