IIT JEE Main – Exam Pattern

IIT JEE Main 2025 (For Indians & NRIs):

Approximately 85% of NRI and Indian students prefer engineering as a career option after completing 12th. In India, there are many governments and private engineering colleges available where Indian and NRI candidates can get admission.

But they have to write JEE Main and Advanced if they want to get admission into a government engineering college. 

IIT JEE Main 2025 is an engineering entrance test for Indian & NRI students in Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, etc. 

The IIT JEE 2025 Competitive Race starts with its first step, i.e. JEE Main. The April JEE Main Exam will be administered in online mode only by NTA from 16th April to 21st April 2025 (For April Session) and 24th May 2025 To 29th May 2025 (For May Session). To make Online Exams safe and secure, LAN instead of the Internet is used by the Exam Convenor Authority to take the exam.

Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) is an exam at the national level. This Exam is organized to take admission in NITs, IITs, and other publicly sponsored institutions. It is carried out in two parts as Paper-1 for B. Tech, E./B., and Paper-2 for B.Arch / B.Planning. 

  • Indian and NRI candidates can be admitted to B.Tech / B.E / B.Arch courses in IITs through JEE main + JEE Advanced.

  • Earlier IIT JEE examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but as announced by the Finance Minister,  NTA conducts the examination.

  • It is also stated that IIT JEE MAIN will be regarded as the sole entrance test for admission to any engineering college, whether it is a private institution or a public institution.

  • Application form IIT JEE Main 2025 will only be available in online mode. No other modes will be entertained for completing and submitting the JEE Main exam application form except online.

  • All Indian and NRI applicants interested in pursuing an engineering career may apply for a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). 

  • All Indian and NRI Applicants abroad can attempt JEE Main for only three consecutive years.

  • This IIT JEE 2025 examination will be held in only Computer Based Test Mode but Drawing Test in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.

Admit card will be available online for download on the official JEE Main website
Candidates can download JEE Main admit card 2025 from the two links provided on JEE Main website.
Along with the admit card candidates must remember to carry a photo identity proof to the exam centre.

JEE ADVANCED 2025:

Those who do not participate in the Mains Counselling Procedure will opt for this second phase of the IIT JEE 2025 Competitive Race, i.e. It's mature. The difficulty level of the exam is rising from Mains to Advanced The JEE Advanced Exam will only be administered in online mode.

JEE Main is also the JEE Advanced eligibility test which offers IITs & ISM admission i.e.Applicants qualified for JEE Main Exam are considered eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Exam.

JEE Advanced 2025 is a rotationally conducted national-level entrance exam by the seven Indian Zonal Institute of Technology (IITs).

JEE Advanced 2025 will be structured to be admitted to undergraduate courses leading to a UG, Integrated PG, or UG-PG dual degree in engineering, architecture, science, or pharmaceuticals.
