for admission to first year degree courses in the Medical stream viz. MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/BHMS/ BUMS/ B.Ph.T./B.Th.O. and in other similar courses of this stream/ Pharmacy stream, in the Universities, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against State Quota seats.
BCECE is held in two stages.
Stage I examination is held during January
Stage II examination announced later.
Pattern: The BCECE comprises of three papers of Physics, Chemistry and Maths for Engineering and Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Medical stream of 1 hour duration each. The standard of exam is that of Intermediate and the medium is in English.
Eligibility Minimum Age limit:17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission
Educational Qualification: A pass in Intermediate Examination with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the Bihar State Government, Education Department, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.
Domicile Restrictions: Residents of Bihar. Candidates whose parents are employees to Tata Iron & Steel Company are eligible to seek admission at Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri only.
Reservation: For the selection of candidates for admission & for allotment of seats on the basis of merit of BCECE, reservation Policy/Rules of the Government of Bihar prevailing on the date of starting the sale of Application Forms for BCECE are applicable.
For the candidates, who are permanent residents/ domicile of Bihar State & who have procured proper caste certificate from the concerned officers of state government for benefits of reservation. Reservation of seats for admission in various Categories of each institute as per the policy of the Government of Bihar & applicable on the date of starting the sale of application forms of BCECE is as given below-

Those candidates, who are non-resident/domicile of the State of Bihar, Seats earmarked for the reserved categories in the institution of state of Bihar are not admissible. The merit list of SC/ST/EBC/BC/RCG is decided on the basis of reserved categories as per the resolution of the Govt, of Bihar applicable at the time of the date of starting the sales of the application forms.
Disabled Quota: Merit cum choice under the prescribed standard of Disability
Service Men's Quota: when the candidates qualify as per the forms specified by the board.
