NEET and JEE Main Exam Schedule announced

NEET 2020 and JEE 2020 (For Indian, NRI, PIO and OCI Candidates)-

NEET and JEE both are famous competitive exams in India, Both NEET & JEE conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), The National Testing Agency conducts NEET for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, veterinary and other medical/paramedical courses in India.

NTA also conducted JEE examination, JEE is one of the most-challenging entrance exams in India, the JEE is your gateway to the prestigious IITs, NITs, and Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs)

NRIs/PIOs & OCIs can also appear in JEE & NEET examination. Recently MCI has notified the Supreme Court of India in regard to OCI, PIO & NRI for getting admission in Medical Colleges through NEET.

 

NEET 2020

  • The Supreme Court ruled that all NRI(Non-Resident Indian), PIO(Person of Indian Origin, OCI (India's Overseas Citizen) and foreign nationals will also have to take the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination in order to obtain admission to Indian medical colleges.
  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the complete form of NEET. NEET is a national level exam conducted every year for admissions in MBBS/BDS after-class 12. Around 15 lakhs candidates applied for the medical examination in 2019 which is expected to increase this year.
  • NEET is performed once a year, and is the country's most important medical entrance exam.

 

JEE 2020-21

  • If you are an NRI candidate and would like to be admitted to the IITs, you must register and appear for the JEE Main exam, qualify it and then appear for JEE Advanced & qualify it to take part in JoSAA Counseling to be admitted to the IITs.
  • Indian and NRI students may appear three consecutive years on the JEE main exam. Although the entrance will be conducted twice a year, the candidate may choose either to appear one or both of the attempts.
  • JEE Main 2020 Exam dates have been announced. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) is an examination at national level. This test is organized to admit to NITs, IIITs, and other publicly sponsored institutions.
  • It is carried out in two stages i.e. paper 1 for B.Tech, E./B. And to B.Arch / B.Planning paper 2. This examination will be carried out in both modes (computer-based mode and pen & paper mode). Check the provided information about JEE Main 2020 Exam Dates in this article.
  • There is no specified age limit applicable to JEE Main 2020 for NRIs Indian Students.

  • National Testing Agency which is known as NTA, a newly formed committee for conducting Online Examinations in India approved by HRD Ministry.
  • Recently NTA announced the starting dates of registration procedure and exam schedule of various exams like JEE-Main, NEET-UG. 
  • NTA reopened the NEET application form 2020 for already enrolled aspirants, it can be filled out by 11:50 PM until 9 February.
  • Following a request from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the HRD Ministry has decided that NEET will be held once a year and will be based on Pen & Paper.
  • On 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 11th April 2020, NTA will conduct JEE Main 2020 for April Session exam
  • JEE Main 2020 Application Form starts for the April Session exam on 7 February 2020

NEET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for NRI, OCI and PIO admission

NRI Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for NRI admission: 

  • Passed Higher Secondary Examination or ICSE with Science and English subjects at a level not lower than the core course prescribed by NCERT or the Indian University Intermediate Scientific Examination or the B.Sc. Test of an Indian University; or any other test that is considered to be similar to the examinations listed above.
  • Individually passed with at least 50 per cent marks in each subject :Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • Qualified NEET-UG-2020, Students must have at least 50th percentile in NEET exam to be eligible for NRI admission
  • Equivalence letter as decided by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, in compliance with Medical Council of India regulations.
  • At the time of admission, NRI students must have reached 17 years of age or will complete their age by or before 31 December 2020. 
  • Proof of NRI status of candidate at his/her parents.

 

Descriptions Of NRIs by Medical Universities in India

Non-resident Indian means a person of Indian origin who holds an Indian Passport or Foreign Passport and who is temporary or permanent settled outside India for any of the reasons below:

  • Employment outside India 
  • Earning money outside India or taking on a vocation or Running a business outside India 
  • Any other reason showing his / her intention of spending an unknown time outside India.
  • The following documents can be used to ascertain the NRI status: 
  • Foreign Country Passport or Green Card
  • Permanent Resident Card issued by a competent authority, 
  • or OCI / PIO Card issued by the Government of India.

 

JEE 2020-21 Eligibility Criteria for NRI, OCI and PIO admission

NRI, OCI & PIO Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for admission: 

  • Not only Indians but also NRIs can appear for JEE

  • No age limit for NRI and Indian candidates to appear in the JEE Main 2020 exam

  • Candidates who have passed their Class 12 or equivalent exams in 2018 and 2019 can take this exam.

  • The JEE Main exam can also be taken by those candidates who take their class 12 or equivalent exam in the academic year 2020.

  • Candidates must have appeared for JEE Main exam with at least 5 subjects in class 12 or equivalent examination

  • NRI students can secure admission to NITs by applying directly for JEE Main and clearing the test, not only through the DASA system. From 2021-22, DASA admissions will take place on the basis of JEE Main ranks, rather than SAT scores

 

If you get admission through JEE Main, the fee for NRI students in NITs is the same as for students in India. If selected under the DASA scheme however, the fee would be higher than the normal fee. CIWG candidates will have to pay the same Indian National fee as prescribed.
