Should we appear for JEE, SAT 2 – DASA / CIWG? Very Confusing!

The SAT is an admission test to get admission in the top U.S. colleges. The term DASA means Direct Admissions for Students Abroad. It is an entrance test which is introduced for undergraduate students of Non-Residential Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). It should be noted that only those undergraduate students are eligible for DASA whose parents have been residing abroad for at least 5 years. Moreover, let’s highlight the eligibility to give DASA:

  • Must  have done 11th and 12th equivalent outside India, or
  • Hold a foreign passport

  • DASA (SAARC) 2018-19 Fee Structure:

The term CIWG stands for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf. The countries that come in the category of the CIWG includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq. These students that come in this category are eligible for CIWG test.

It should be noted that the total number of students that can take admission in DASA is 2350 and among this figure, the 1/3rd quota has allotted to CIWS and a 2/3rd quote is allotted to Non-CIWS scheme.  As per the latest update of 2018–19, now the students can apply in both schemes and in a case, they are not selected, they may get elected to selected under DASA.

The JEE (Joint Entrance Examination)is an engineering entrance examination directed for admission to different engineering colleges in India.
