SAT Exam Registration Process

SAT REGISTRATION PROCESS

SAT examination is Scholastic Aptitude Test. SAT is one of the two standardized college admissions tests in the US. The students of high school juniors and seniors wing applying to colleges and universities in the US takes this test. In order to appear for this test, one has to register for this exam. The test is divided into three aspects- reading, math and writing sections which project the student's ability to manage college courses in critical reading, mathematics and writing. Registration for the test can be done online by paying 51$ at the time of registration.

The SAT exam can be given seven times a year in the US and six times a year internationally. Registration can also be done offline. After the process of registering for the SAT subject tests, the student gets their admission ticket. Most of the students get a printable ticket online which contains student details such as the name of the student, their photo and other important information demanded during the process of registration. It is mandatory to carry your admission ticket with you to the examination centre along with your Photo ID proof on the date of examination.

The admission ticket is essential to analyze and confirm the student’s identity by the authorities of the test centre. The identity authentication is done by comparing the student’s admission ticket photo ID. If the given details didn’t match the student won’t be allowed to appear for the examination. The lists of details are given below:

 

NAME ON THE ADMISSION TICKET:

It is important to supply the student’s full, legal name at the time of registration both online and offline. The name given on the admission ticket should be added to the student roster. Make sure the spelling entered is correct. The student himself is responsible for ensuring that the name used during registration exactly matches the name on the ID document(s) presented at the test centre.

In case of changes in the names after registration, the student can freely contact customer service at least 30 days prior to your intended test date. There is an option for middle names and initials. But make sure the middle initial must exactly match the first letter of the middle name on the student ID.

 

PHOTO ON THE ADMISSION TICKET:

It is mandatory to submit a photo while signing up for the SAT Subject Tests. The photo is required for security purposes. A message of successful upload doesn’t mean that photo meets all the requirements it only means the file type and size is up to the mark. A photo needs to meet certain dos and don’ts to fulfil the registration criteria.

Do’s:

•    Always use recent photos or photos used on the school identification cards or passport photos or get clicked.

•    There are options to link your Facebook account and add a photo from there.

•    The picture should be easily recognizable in nature.

•    The picture should only contain one person i.e. the student appearing for the exam.

•    There should be a head-and-shoulders view, with the entire face, both eyes, and hair clearly visible.

•    The picture of the student should be focused properly.

•    There should be no dark spots or shadows on the picture.

•    Black and white and coloured both types of photos are accepted.

Don’ts:

•    One or both the eyes of the students are not visible or blocked.

•    The picture includes more than one person’s face.

•    The bad quality of the photos makes the picture unclear.

•    The student shouldn’t wear any hat or head covering worn for certain religious purposes.

•    The photo has been altered or tampered with digitally or by any other method.

 

IDENTIFICATION DETAILS ON THE ADMISSION TICKET:

The list of the information written on the admission ticket is compared with the information at the test centre roster to confirm your registration and identity. In case any detail doesn’t match the student will not be allowed to appear for the exam. This includes having the full name of the student on one document and nickname on the other, in such situations will not be admitted to give the test. There are ID documents required as solid ID proof such as:

• A valid and unexpired photo identification document issued by the school that the student recently attended or government-issued. School ID cards from prior school year which are valid through December of the current calendar year are also acceptable.

• An original and physical document is essential no photocopy or electronic form of the document is accepted.

• A document bearing the full, legal name of the student exactly as it appears on your Admission Ticket, including the order of the names.

• A document containing a recently recognizable photograph that clearly matches both your appearance on test day and the photo on your Admission Ticket.

• A document in perfect condition which has to be in clearly legible English language text and a clearly visible photograph.
