University Application Assistance

Unlike other application forms, you get only one shot in filling the form in a right way. Here is a guide to help you fill your application form with ease and comfort.

  • The application form consists of the following
  • A personal statement,
  • letters of recommendation,
  • possible course selections,
  • health clearance forms
  • A general information form.

General Information Forms

This part of the form requires the basic information like personal information, emergency contacts, degree information and more.

Health Clearance Forms

You are required to get a complete physical test done with a confirmation from the doctor stating you are fit enough to go abroad and that you are up-to-date on all of your vaccinations.

Understanding that no country wants a foreigner bringing in diseases, your doctor will have to fill-out the forms after your physical and send them to the school study abroad office or wherever instructed.

Possible Course Selections

It is called either a home approval form, or course approval form. Make sure you have looked at your progress toward graduation. Compare classes from your host school’s course catalogue with those   that you will need to complete your minor/major and fulfil general requirements. Also, identify classes that seem interesting and you would like to opt.

Letters of Recommendation

Letters of Recommendations are required to be attached along with the form while applying in a foreign university. Depending upon the number of letters mentioned, ask your employer or professors   to write you a letter of recommendation.

Personal Statement/Study Abroad Essay:

This is one part of the application that most people dread.

Here is a step by step way of writing a personal statement/ study abroad essay.

First, give a general overview of your reasons for studying abroad in the introductory paragraph. Include why you want to go abroad, what originally interested you in going abroad, what school you plan on attending and anything else that seems relevant.

Focus on academics next. Explain how going to school in a different culture will expand your capacity to learn and interpret new information. Tell them by going abroad, you will be able to complete certain requirements for your major or just make progress toward your degree in general. Make sure of mentioning about classes that are offered abroad and aren’t available at your home school.

Further, explain the reason behind choosing this particular school and location. Keep questions like – Does the school have a great reputation internationally? Do you have family roots in a particular country? And frame your paragraph. Get into the fact that you wish to explore the specific culture of that country or region. The more sincere and direct you are about why you wish to study at this particular school, the more likely are you chances of getting an approval from the admissions staff abroad.

Lastly, don’t forget to include personal reasons and interests in the essay. You need to make sure that your writing seems mature enough to impress the abroad admissions office. You can also mention other reasons apart from academics, in your essay, that define your reason of studding in that particular institution.

Tips for Writing Your Study Abroad Application Essay

The best way to start your study abroad application essay by is introducing yourself. Choose sentences that are simple, sober and elegant. Send your essay with a strong closing paragraph. Express interest in learning about local culture, getting an education not only in terms of academics but in life as well. Be specific and explain your desire to pursue interests and hobbies that you have picked up in college and in life in a foreign country. Make sure of using correct grammar and form short sentences for better clarity of your ideas and future vision.
