The new SAT score from now will be -1600
No negative marking of 0.25 Mark on every incorrect answer.

Type of Score- Composite Score
Score Range – (400 – 1600)
Details: The sum of scores of the two sections – Maths + Evidence based Reading and Writing. The Essay score will be calculated separately and is not included in Composite Score.
Type of Score- Area Score
Score Range – (200 – 800)
Details: The sum of scores of the two sections -Maths + Evidence based Reading and Writing. The Essay score will be calculated separately and is not included in the Section Score.
Type of Score- Essay Score
Score Range – (6 – 24)
Details: There will be three scores – Reading, Writing, Analysis . Each score should be between 2 to 8.
Type of Score- Test Score
Score Range – (10 – 40)
Details: There will be five scores – Maths, Reading, Writing, History/Social Studies and Science. Two of the scores of History/Social Studies and Science are called “Cross Test Scores”. These scores depict how students have performed in specific questions related to these subjects.
Type of Score- Sub Score
Score Range – (10 – 40)
Details: There will be Seven Sub scores:-
- Two related to Reading and Writing language only,
- Two related to Writing and language only.
- Three related to Maths.
The Reading and Writing language Sub score will depict how students has performed in specific questions related to Command of Evidence and relevant words in Context Concepts.
The Writing and language Sub score will depict how students has performed in specific questions related to command of Expression of Ideas and Standard English Conventions Concepts.
The Maths Sub Score will depict how students have performed in specific questions related to Algebra, Advanced Maths, Problem Solving and Data Analysis Concepts.
The new scoring of SAT proposed by collegeboard is a welcome move as it will give more clarity to the students and would lessen the burden.
