The SAT scholarship is offered to Indian students in the form of the College Board India Scholars program. The College Board India Scholars program was launched in 2018-19 and offers SAT scholarships to deserving Indian students facing financial shortages.

Applicants with an SAT score above 1300 and a family income that does not reach a certain threshold will receive a 100% SAT exam scholarship to complete their studies at some of the prestigious Indian universities. The College Board has partnered with many Indian universities that would use the SAT score to obtain scholarships for talented applicants and it is called the India Global Alliance.

The scholarship for the SAT exam depends solely on the SAT score obtained by the candidates. The SAT Indian Student Scholarship also offers comprehensive coverage for students with scores above 1300. The College Board assists applicants in obtaining a scholarship for the SAT exam in two ways:

  • A 90% reduction in SAT registration fees
  • Scholarships at participating Indian universities, which may offer tuition reduction until graduation

According to India Global Alliance, an applicant who has scored high on the SAT and chooses to study in Indian universities is eligible for the SAT scholarship. Thanks to the SAT Guarantee Scholarship, she can waive all or part of the tuition fees.

The only criteria for receiving a scholarship for the SAT exam are merit and low family income. The Alliance offers opportunities to the best universities such as MIT, Cambridge, Columbia, McGill. The SAT score for US stock exchanges hovers around 1,350, although the competition is very high.

 

Who can benefit from the SAT registration fee reduction?

  • Families with incomes below Rs. 8 Lac can take advantage of the 90% reduction in the SAT registration fee
  • Families with incomes between Rs. 8-15 Lac can take advantage of the 50% reduction in the SAT registration fee

 

Who can apply for the SAT scholarship?

Applicants with SAT numbers for SAT 1300 scholarships or higher with low family income can apply for the scholarship to study at participating Indian universities. Students with a family income are less than Rs. 8 lakes.

Note: It should be mentioned here that the scholarship is not valid for the first year, but for the entire duration of the baccalaureate.

Eligibility for SAT Scholarships in India

To qualify for the SAT exam scholarship, Indian students must meet the following factors:

  • Must be in the 2019-20 class from the 11th or 12th grade through the 2019-20 semester
  • The candidate's annual household income must be less than INR 8 lakhs. to be
  • By 1600, applicants must achieve an SAT score of 1300 or higher.
  • Applicants must gain admission to Indian universities participating in the above programs
  • Applicants may lose the scholarship if they do not meet any of the above conditions.

SAT fee reduction program

The College Board also offers fee reductions for SAT registration. In India, applicants can benefit from a fee discount of up to 90% based on family income. In order to benefit from it, the candidate must be a student of class XI or XII.

In India, applicants have 2 options for a fee reduction:

Eligibility criteria for a 90% reduction in SAT fees:

  • An 11th or 12th-grade student
  • Annual household income must be less than INR 8 lakh

Eligibility criteria for a 50% reduction in SAT fees:

  • Students class XI or Class XII
  • Annual household income must be between INR 8 lakh and INR 15 lakh. to lie
