Even though there are a limited number of scholarships, the cost remains a bit too high for many international students.
On average, a student has to shell out $17,000 and $44,000 respectively at the public and private educational institutes respectively for fees, boarding, and lodging. If you add the cost of travel, book, etc. the amount would shoot up to $60,000 as well. This is typically for the premier institutions; for others, there could be a reduction. The states have the autonomy to charge the fees accordingly.
Some colleges take one-year fees in advance whereas some others are more flexible. The average tuition fees last year for Indians (NRIs) were $26,000 for state-run colleges. However, for private colleges is $35,000
