Rolling Education System

The rolling admission system is used by many colleges in the USA to admit students for undergraduate programs. In this system, the colleges do not specify the end date of the application submission. It closes when all the required seats are full. The college reviews the applications and reverts to the students within next 4 to 8 weeks. However, some colleges send their decisions all at one go.

The rolling admission is helpful for the admission offices as well as for the students because the process is more relaxed. Students get enough time to review their application without getting anxious about the deadline. On other side, the colleges keep receiving the applications continuously and get more time for each application.

The drawback of the rolling admission system is, sometimes the colleges use a first-come-first-serve method and the students who applied earlier are granted housing or aid. This creates pressure amongst the students who take a little longer time to apply.
