Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD):

Sustainable architecture is an architecture that aims to reduce the negative effect of buildings on the environment through sustainability and moderation in the use of materials, resources and construction space and the ecosystem at large

Students will be architects and urban designers of the future. Students will not just build structures – students will build better communities and a better tomorrow through the power of design and technology.

 

Engineering System and Design (ESA):

Systems engineering is the process of designing, constructing and testing a space system as an integrated system capable of achieving the objectives of the project within appropriate technological and programmatic frameworks.

In this program students will be architects and urban designers of future. Students will not just build structure, they will build better communities and a better tomorrow through the power of the technology and design.

Degree offer By SUTD:

  • Bachelor of Science (Architecture and Sustainable Design) – 8 terms

  • Master of Architecture – Additional 2 terms

 

Design and artificial intelligence (DAI):

Artificial Intelligence helps improve the creativity of designers by taking care of the regular work that saves time and effort for the designer to spend on building ideas.

In this program students will be analysts and system engineers who tackle open-ended challenges for organizations with a focus on design, analysis and optimization. Whatever the challenge, students expertise in systems thinking and economics will find a way forward.

Information Systems technology and design (ISTD)-

Information technology is the study, design, implementation, development or management of computer-based information systems. It focuses on maintaining the hardware, software, databases and networks of the device, with the ultimate goal of communicating to users how to make the most of its capabilities.

Students are the drivers of the future’s digital development. Students will possess abilities in computing and system knowledge in both software and hardware, as well as the power to design machines of the future with augmented intelligence.

Engineering product development (EPD)-

Product engineering development refers to the process of designing and creating a product, assembly or system in such a way that it is manufactured as an object for sale by some manufacturing process.

In this program students will be design engineers that believe any challenge can be overcome with an invention or innovation. Using your skills and knowledge to design products, services and systems to solve any problem.

Admission Process To Enrol in SUTD:

As we know to get into SUTD is not too easy. SUTD application is not a test — It's like a chance for SUTD's admission team to know as much about student as they can. Beyond grades, students need to share with SUTD their passions, abilities and goals.

Application Steps

What it is

Apply online

Check that you meet the requirements for the qualification you are applying with and apply within the application period. The online form will require you to provide the following:
Personal details of students
Academic results – high school final exam as well as secondary school Year 4 results
Listing of key co-curricular activities, awards or achievements,
Testimonial or referees’ contact details
Responses to a few short response questions

 

Students only need to submit one application form for consideration of admission and scholarship. SUTD do not charge an application fee.

Interview

International & NRI students will generally be notified within a month upon their application submission if they are shortlisted for an admission interview. The interview format may vary depending on your application profile and the programme shortlisted for.

Notification of admission and/or scholarship offer

If International & NRI students are successful in their application, they will be notified of the offer within three weeks after the interview, and will be able to download their offer letter online.

Notification of unsuccessful application

If International & NRI students are unsuccessful in their application, they will be notified by end of April. They will be notified by email and/or post.
 

Appeals

If students wish to appeal against SUTD's admissions decision, International & NRI students are required to submit an online appeal within 2 weeks following notification of the application outcome.

Their appeal must represent significant and compelling new academic and/or personal information that was not present at the time of application and which brings merit for reconsideration.

Only appeals submitted through the online application portal will be considered. This is accessible to applicants who have submitted an application in this current admissions exercise, and have received outcomes of their application.

Appeals via any other avenues will not be considered. Appeals can be submitted here after logging into SUTD Admissions system.

Acceptance of offer

The deadline to accept SUTD offer will be stated in student’s offer letter.
Please refer to instructions in the offer letter.

Matriculation

Students will be informed on the matriculation details via email/post after student have accepted SUTD offer.

 

Admission Requirements:

'SUTD conducts a comprehensive analysis of applications where SUTD considers both academic and personal qualities to determine whether students are capable of dealing with the rigor of SUTD's program and will fit well.

For the former, SUTD are looking for evidence of competence in mathematics and science, i.e. Physics or Chemistry, in the context of the possibilities they have.

In view of the current situation of COVID-19, interviews with all shortlisted candidates will be conducted online.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level

  • Local Polytechnic Diploma

  • NUS High School Diploma

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (Singapore)

  • International Qualifications (IELTS / TOEFL / SAT / SAT Subject Test)

 

Since admission to the university is competitive, it should be noted that meeting the minimum criteria is often not enough to be competitive in the selection process. The selection will be based on merit and on thorough analysis as outlined above.

 

Criteria For Admission:

Please send SAT Subject Test scores in Mathematics Level II and Physics to complement your application if you are applying with expected results as attested by your high school.

Those students applying with State and other Boards (except Central and ISC Boards) are strongly encouraged to complement the application with SAT Subject Tests at Level II and Physics in Mathematics.

You will need to submit the following documents to the online application form in PDF format.

  • Passport specifics page (Citizens of Singapore and Permanent Residents of Singapore must have Singapore Identification Card, &Passport details page for foreign students)

Academic Details:

  • Slips / transcripts of the standard 10 mark sheet or Grade 10/junior high school equivalent test results.

  • Standard 12 mark sheet (actual) or standard 11 mark sheet with the latest results for the semester / predicted. Those who apply with the current semester / predicted results must submit the actual results of Standard 12 within 3 days of the official release date.

  • National Talent Search Certificate (if applicable)

  • University academic transcripts (for current or former university students)

  • IELTS, TOEFL, SAT (formerly known as SAT Reasoning Test or SAT 1), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) or ACT (optional).

  • SAT Subject Tests in Math Level II and Physics (compulsory for applicants applying with the results of the predicted / last semester)

  • Applicants who take SAT (with an essay component) and/or SAT Subject Tests request that the SAT scores be submitted electronically to us by the college board. SUTD Institution Code is 6532.

  • At least one testimonial / recommendation letter from Principal / high school teacher (preferably teaching Maths / Science)

  • Co-curricular activities and any other supplemental documents (if any)

Answer: The Registration Fee of SAT is 46 USD (Excluding Essay) and 60 USD (Including Essay). You are charged 29 USD more for late registration. Here’s the entire process of SAT Registration (Updating soon).

Answer: It depends on the college you wish to apply for. Every college eligibility criteria varies. So it would be better to check the eligibility criteria of the college you are aiming to on board.

Answer: The SAT General Sores will be out in 3 weeks after the test. You can get them via email or via hard copy.

Answer: SAT is conducted by College Board 7 times a year. For US aspirants, SAT General Test is conducted 7 times a year – August, October, November, December, March, May and June. Whereas, SAT Subject Tests are conducted 6 times a year – August, October, November, December, May and June. For International Students, SAT General Test is conducted 4 times a year – October, December, March and May. Whereas, SAT Subject Tests is conducted 5 times a year – October, November, December, May and June

Answer: Yeah, SAT Score validity is 5 years. But you can keep up yourself improving by doing repetitive attempts. Send the best SAT score to the colleges you are aiming to join.

Ans: No, many renowned colleges in the US offer admission via ACT and the SAT. A few more colleges accept the SAT, ACT and the IB points. Finally, admissions will be allotted solely on the merit basis

Answer: You don’t need SAT score at the time of applying to universities. Your SAT score should reach the colleges you are aiming to join prior 1 month of the college application deadline.

Answer: Around 1600 for SAT General Test would be good SAT score to onboard renowned colleges like Ivy League.

Answer: Yes, SAT 1 is a SAT General Test and SAT 2 is widely termed as SAT subject test. They are entirely different and the formats as well. SAT Subject Test is given by the students that are willing to join engineering and SAT General Test is mostly given to on board the streams rather than Engineering.

Answer: We do arrange all our sessions in the evenings (I.e. after 6PM) to keep yourself away from the school activities. Classes are scheduled on the basis of student’s pace and comfort.

Answer: Our SAT tutors are extremely skilled and they have got 10 years of average experience in delivering SAT classes online. They still examine themselves by doing SAT once in every 2-3 years.

Answer: It depends on the time availability student has got and the pace of the student. We strongly recommend 72 & 90 hours for the sophomores and 42 & 60 hour crash courses for the junior level students.
