Everyone wants to get an early head start on their application process. If you think, you can take up study load and also work your way through the tiresome application process, then Early Action is the best way to apply for you.
This article will list all the colleges that offer early action, along with their deadlines. Before jumping onto the list, let’s first look at the Early Action admissions and understand its nitty-gritties.
Everything You Need to Know About Early Action:
There are too many schools out there that provide Early Action option. This means you’ll both apply and get to know your results earlier than others. So, Indian NRI Students, if you have any school that has Early Action, make sure to apply, if you do not get selected, you can still go ahead and apply somewhere else.
The usual deadline for Early Action is between 1-15 November. Deadline is not flexible, this means you’ll have to get your Prep Materials, Recommendation Letters and Test Scores submitted to school by the stated deadline. And the results of your application will be out before you go on a holiday break.
Early Action application outcomes are of three types; Accepted, Denied or Deferred.
Deferred is a very unique feature of Early Action admissions. This means, if you are not clearing the Early Action pool of students, and your application is competitive admissions officers will push you application in the regular pool review it again in January or February.
Let’s say you get selected to a particular school via Early Action, it’s not a mandate to get the admission completed then. You will have time till national response deadline of May 1 to make that decision.
Now as the Typical Headline for Early Action is November, here’s how your deadline should look:

Now one rule of thumb, there's no purpose applying Early Action if you do not have a powerful application to send. If you wish to use early, you will need to arrange all of your application materials before the November point. Hence, it is advisable to start your preparation several months or at least a year prior to the deadline.

Your SAT or ACT Test Dates:
Results for SAT and ACT tests are usually out within two weeks post your test date. So, for SAT October is the last chance for you, if you are applying for Early Action. And with regards to ACT, September would be the last date.
Request your Letters of Recommendation (LOR) and Transcripts Early:
Make sure you are asking your letter of recommendations before October and receiving before November 1. Always advisable to ask your teacher for letters post you are done with your junior year and so is the case with your transcripts.
Prepare for Your Essays Over the Summer:
Make sure you have your first essay draft ready before your summer holidays. And during your summer holidays you can spend time editing and even preparing any other supplemental essays. Essays are very important part of your application, and you should as much time possible making it perfect.
Keep Track Of Your Schedule:
Make a To-Do list alongside a timeline sheet and make sure you have all the ites ready before time. As you would be having your regular studies with Early Action application.
