When to write SAT 2 examinations?

Is it good to write SAT Subject Tests in Grade 11 / Is grade 11 is the right time to write SAT II subject Tests / When to write SAT II subject tests

The counsellors at TestprepKart receive many calls every day and the question is same, " My son has gone in grade 11, and I want him to write SAT II ASAP". It is understood that this desperation comes out of the mindset that one has to grab the opportunity of securing a seat in NITs. The DASA and CIWG schemes make attempting SAT Subject test more attractive for those students who are studying in Middle East.

But the truth is completely different. Let's see it one by one:

  • Students in Middle East countries take it by default and naturally that they have to make at least 2 to 3 attempts for SAT subject tests in order to take advantage for DASA or CIWG scheme.
  • The tendency of attempting SAT subject tests for multiple times makes a student complacent.
  • The syllabus of SAT subject tests for Math level 2, Physics and Chemistry demands certain portion from Grade 11 and 12th to be finished. Until one finishes that he or she will not be able to attempt the question set for SAT Subject Test.
  • The notion is that SAT subject tests are easy in comparison with JEE or other engineering exam. This tendency makes a student take SAT Subject tests lightly.
  • The data says that most of the students get best score in first attempt only.
  • The data also indicates that most of the students get best score while attempting for SAT subject tests in grade 12th.

Testprepkart strongly recommends the parents and students to contemplate over the points presented above before finally taking a decision when to write SAT subject Tests.
